| HIST | of Santee, South Carolina Thomas Madison Mellette SANTEE - The Rev. Thomas Madison Mellette, 75, husband of Barbara Ann DuBose Mellette, died Thursday, April 22, 2010, in Clarendon Memorial Hospital in Manning. Born August 3, 1934, in Turbeville, he was the son of the late Miller H. and Bessie McNeil Mellette. He was a graduate of the University of South Carolina and attended Columbia Bible College. He was a retired minister with 50 years of service to the ministry, a member of Summerton Baptist Church, where he pastored for 10 years, and a retired educator and counselor in Williamsburg, Orangeburg, Sumter and Clarendon Counties. Surviving, in addition to his wife of Santee, are a daughter, Vicki Ouzts and her husband, Rock, of Manning; two grandsons, Robert "Robbie" Thomas Ouzts and Michael Owen Ouzts; a sister, Marbeth Brown of Blythewood; and a brother, Russell D. Mellette and his wife, Grace, of Lexington. Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2010, at Summerton Baptist Church, with the Rev. Rob Pierce and the Rev. Donald Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in Clarendon Memorial Gardens in Manning. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Stephens Funeral Home in Manning, and at other times at the residence in Santee. Special thanks to his caregivers for the past four years, to include Southern Care Hospice, and third floor Clarendon Memorial Hospital staff. Memorials may be made Summerton Baptist Church, P.O.
