| HIST | Hey Jackie...just thought you would like to see this.. Thank you, Chris Chris, I have looked through your genealogy and can help you with the Britton and Hyrne sections. There are some errors and I will try to straighten them out. You and I have a common ancestor in Francis Britton II (wife Ann Hyrne). You descend from their son Henry Britton and I descend from their son Francis Britton III. (My line briefly from Francis III. Francis Britton III and wife Ann (last name unknown but suspected to be Bennison) had a dau. Mary Elizabeth Britton who married George Skinner. Their dau. Mary Elizabeth Skinner married Benjamin Grier (son of Samuel Grier and Grandson of Patrick and Judith Grier). Benjamin and Mary Grier had a son Lemuel Asbury Grier who had a dau. Henrietta Ann Shuford Grier. Henrietta married Mathias West and had James H. West, my mother's father). Your ancestor Henry Britton married his cousin Elizabeth Ann Britton (we do not know her parents) b. 1753, d. 24 Feb. 1802. On 12 July 1785, Elizabeth married Capt. Shadrack Simons after the death of her first husband Henry Britton. Henry and Elizabeth Britton had issue - Henry Britton (4 Jan 1774-14 Sept.. 1842), Rachel Britton (1 Apr 1771), Mary Ann Britton (1776), Martha Britton (22 Jul 1778), George Washington Britton (1 Sept 1780) and Esther Britton (15 Apr. 1783). Some Hyrne notes: You and I do not descend from the Massingberd line. Elizabeth Massingberd is out step-grandmother. This has been proven and documented. The first Edward Hyrne (d. 1714) was first married to an unknown lady and had Edward Hyrne II (1694-bef. May 1755) who married Barbara Smith. Edward Hyrne II and Barbara had issue: George Hyrne, Henry Hyrne, Benjamin Hyrne, Elizabeth Hyrne and Ann Hyrne (b. 1716) [our line]. I have Family Tree Maker but am terribly slack about filling in the blanks. I like to research the info and let others fill it it. I do however have a lot of the Grier data recorded and if I figure how to cut and paste from Family Tree Maker, I will send it to you. Best regards and happy hunting, Deryl From: CHRIS PARKER Sent: Tuesday, January 06, 2009 4:19 PM Thank you for the info on Mary Ann Grier! I was wondering if you might know who the parents of Mary Lanneau was? Also who is the parents of Patrick Grier? I will share what ever info you my need.. Thanks, Chris Parker [3] | |
