| HIST | of Cayce, South Carolina Comments: Anna Mae Rhodus listed in the singleton tree has incomplete information as she was first married to Steve McKelvin Lowder in 1939 and then married to Charles Leonard Harris in 1958. 4 children were born of the first union with Steve McKelvin Lowder, 2 of whom survive. Anna Mae Rhodus had 5 sisters and 2 brothers, none are surviving. The children of James Gabriel/Gable Rhodus and Jessie Mae Ardis has an incomplete listing as two of their daughters' names are missing: twin girls Dorothy & Mae Rhodus who were the last born. What does this mean? Anna Mae Rhodus and Steve McKelvin Lowder are my parents and I would like to correct information on my mother's listing and possibly my Dad's also. Marilyn Lowder Milam 2/13/1941 e-mail mmilam@scana.com Marilyn Lowder Milam mmilam@scana.com Jackie, My mother died 4/29/2003, 83 at her time of death, she would have been 84 had she lived until 10/12/2003. She was born 10/12/1919, not 1920. Apparently, she took liberty with her year of birth. She was first married to my dad, Steve McKelvin Lowder in January, possibly the 18th of 1939. Mother married a second time to Charles Leonard Harris. My dad is buried at Oak Grove Cemetery , Bloomville Hwy, with his family, mother & father, grandmother & grandfather and his brother (died at about 2 years of age) and another adult brother & wife and a nephew who died at an early age My mom is buried at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Cemetery on Delree Street, West Columbia, SC Additionally in her family tree, Father James Gabriel/Gabel Rhodus, Mother Jessie Mae ARDIS two of the children, twin daughters Dorothy and Mae have been omitted. Unfortunately both are deceased, Mae having died around 2 years and Dorothy in 2002. Please let me know if you accept information for correcting purposes and how to follow through. Of course, I would like to add as much information as possible for her siblings and all of the children and grandchildren and great grands. All of my mother’s siblings are deceased, sadly. She lived the greatest number of years, however, some younger than she survived just one or two years after her death and did not attain her age. I am trying to trace my mother’s mother’s family ARDIS back to the American Revolution, and I have one ancestor through your online information that was born in 1772, but I can’t seem to get back to a date that would allow someone to have served in the American Revolution, but there is family rumor that someone, an ARDIS did serve. Can you tell me how to trace it all the way back? Thanks for your response. Marilyn Lowder Milam 1624 Omarest Drive Columbia SC 803/772-0569 From: Jacqueline K. Someone has to die or be 100 years of age before the information can be seen. I have your mother being born on 12 Oct 1920. Is that correct and is she still alive? jackie On Oct 4, 2009, at 3:09 PM, mmilam@scana.com wrote: Gender Female Person ID I105562 Singleton Last Modified 14 Jan 2004 00:00:00 Father James Gabriel/Gable RHODUS, b. 1/23 Aug 1891, Clarendon County, South Carolina Mother Jessie Mae ARDIS, b. 24 Aug 1899, Clarendon County, South Carolina Family ID F64654 Group Sheet Family 1 Lowder HARRIS Family ID F73053 Group Sheet Family 2 Steve McKelvin LOWDER, b. 13 Mar 1920, Clarendon County, South Carolina Family ID F80693 Group Sheet Notes At least one living individual is linked to this note - Details withheld.
