Logan Jr., 77, husband of Evelyn "Becky" Sims Logan, died on Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital. Born on Aug. 26, 1943, in Sumter, he was a son of the late James H. Logan and Clara Montgomery Nunnery Phelps. He is a charter member of Crosspoint Baptist Church and retired from the City of Sumter. He was a veteran who was proud to have served in Germany during the Vietnam War era. Survivors include his wife of 51 years; a daughter, Angela Paige Logan Jones (Randy) of Sumter; grandchildren that he raised as his own, Ariel Briane Logan Dieleman (Zach) and Austin Wayne Logan (Caitlyn); grandchildren, Cody James Logan and Wyatt Jackson Jones; great-grandchildren, Carter Dieleman, Rowan Dieleman, Teagan Dieleman, Evie Logan, Emmie Logan and LaeLani Logan; a sister, Diane Ratcliffe (Robert); a brother, Dennis Logan; nieces and nephews, Debra Clanton (Brant), Cindy Hollis (Jay), Tracey Conroy (Paul), Vince Logan, Katlyn Hollis, Diana Hollis and other nieces and nephews; and special grandkids, Mary-Katheryn Brunke and Krystin Fuss. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Stacy Diane Logan Hall; a brother, Gerald Logan; a sister, Pamela Logan; and his beloved pets, Bentley and Daisy. Jimmy loved his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grands. He was so proud of the parents they became and the children they've raised; but the great-grands captured his heart. Family was everything to him. And in return, he was a fiercely loved husband, father, brother and papa. "Papa" was his most cherished title. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Travis Pruden officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. on Saturday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to the Sumter SPCA, 1140 S.
