PRESCOTT III Posted Wednesday, August 15, 2018 6:00 am COLUMBIA - James "JC" C. Prescott III, of Columbia, age 36, went to be with his Lord suddenly on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2018. JC was born in Sumter to James C. Prescott Jr. and Elizabeth Moore Prescott. JC married Katina Wells Prescott in Barre, Vermont, in December 2005. JC was the attentive husband of Katina E. Wells Prescott; beloved father of Adrienne Prescott and Elias Prescott; adored son of Jimmy and Liz Prescott; and cherished brother of Cathy Prescott Harrell (Brian); and uncle of two adored nieces, Madison and Caroline. JC earned his undergraduate degree from North Greenville University, a master's from Columbia International University and a master's from Liberty University. JC loved to teach, whether he was teaching Sunday school, youth group, college classes or his own children. A celebration of life service will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dr. Eddie Fleming and the Rev. Wayne Parker officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 p.m. on Thursday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of his sister, 1125 Boots Branch Road. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060-9979.
