Born in Clarendon County, SC, she was the daughter of the late William Earl McElveen and Lorelle Player McElveen.  Clarice worked as a self-employed bookkeeper and will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her son, Michael Wayne Staley, and his wife Terri of Sumter; a sister, Cynthia M. Hamilton of Smithfield, NC; a grandson, Michael Lea Staley; four great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne M. McElveen, and two sisters, Judy McElveen, and Marilyn Hyatt A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, from 3:00-5:00 pm at Bullock Funeral Home.
