Dr. Gary Colboch will officiate and Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home is serving the family. Mr. Byrd, widow of Jennie Howle Byrd, died Tuesday, June 7, 2011. Born in Florence Co., SC, he was a son of the late Edward Jerry and Beulah Dukes Byrd. He was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church, served in the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II, and had retired from Sonoco after 42 years of service. Surviving are his sons, Orren E. Byrd, Jr. of Hartsville, SC, Hal V. Byrd of Hartsville, SC; grandchildren, Ryan K. Byrd, Robin G. Smith, Amanda Harrell; great-grandchild, Chesney Brown; sisters, Elizabeth B. Watson of Florence, SC, Jewel B.
