DELORME Posted Friday, July 15, 2016 6:00 am CORDOVA - William "Boots" Moultrie DeLorme, 68, of Cordova, died on Sunday, June 26, 2016, while traveling, one of his favorite activities. Born on Dec. 5, 1947, in Sumter, he was a son of Lorinne Johnson DeLorme and the late William Moultrie DeLorme. Boots graduated from Edmunds High School and served in the Army, including two tours in Vietnam. After an honorable discharge, he received a degree in forestry from Lake City Community College in Lake City, Florida. After graduation, he worked with Georgia-Pacific in Madison, Georgia. He moved to Orangeburg, where he worked as a forest technician, realtor and crop insurance agent. He was currently employed with American Forest Management. Boots was a member of Masonic Progress Lodge No. 356, Omar Shrine in Mount Pleasant; a member of the Cain's Mill Club in Sumter; and served as past director of the Orangeburg-Calhoun Forest Landowners Association. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Boots is survived by his wife of 19 years, Debbie; two stepsons, Grant and Cory Baker of Cordova; his mother, Lorinne J. DeLorme; an uncle, John W. Johnson of Sumter; a brother, Bob DeLorme (Melissa) of Stone Mountain, Georgia; a sister, Fran Clement (Merritt) of Mount Pleasant; his mother-in-law, Sadie Padgett; a sister-in-law, Rhonda Patterson (Harry) of Orangeburg; six nephews, Perry DeLorme, Corey DeLorme, Sean DeLorme (Haley), Mac DeLorme, Hayden Clement and Robbie Felkel; two nieces, Lorinne Southerland (Evan) and Rebecca Felkel; and numerous cousins. A memorial and celebration of life service will be held between the hours of 4 and 6 p.m. on Tuesday for sharing and visitation at Highland Baptist Church, 4695 North Road, Orangeburg, SC 29116.
