Born April 13, 1930, in Gable, she was a daughter of the late William Cecil McFaddin and the late Bessie Lynn DuBose McFaddin. She was a graduate of Winthrop College. She was an educator who taught business at several schools including Edmunds High School, Manning High School, East Clarendon High School, Salem Schools and Sumter High School. She was a former member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Future Business Leaders of America. She was a member of Sardinia Presbyterian Church, where she was a women's Bible study teacher and former president of Sardinia Presbyterian Women of the Church. She is survived by her husband of Gable; three daughters, Anna J. Floyd (Ronnie) of New Zion, Lisa J. Mayes (Jim) of Mayesville and Olivia "Libby" J. Ortmann (Jody) of Sumter; a sister, Joanne M. O'Bryan (Cecil) of Martinez, Ga.; eight grandchildren, Amanda F. McConnell (Joe), Abbie F. Kirby (Allen), all of Turbeville, Elizabeth M. Hyatt (John) of Mayesville, Katie B. Mayes of Columbia, James E. Mayes III of Mayesville, Sallie S. Ortmann, Anna R. Ortmann and Catherine E. Ortmann, all of Sumter; two great-grandchildren, Olivia L. McConnell and Barnwell D. McConnell; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 23, at Sardinia Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Gordon Reed and the Rev. John Dodd officiating. Burial will follow in the Sardinia-Gable Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott H. Jackson Jr., Dr. William J. Epperson, Robert N. Jackson, James R. Jackson, Cecil D. O'Bryan Jr., Henry McFaddin, Wilson DuBose and Samuel R. McFaddin. Honorary pallbearers will be deacons and elders of Sardinia Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home, 2422 Black River Rd., Gable. Memorials may be made to Sardinia Presbyterian Church, 1386 Garland Road, Sardinia, SC 29143. Stephens Funeral Home & Crematory, 304 N.
