BOGDANY Posted Thursday, October 13, 2016 6:00 am Jean Shirah Bogdany, age 65, beloved wife of 48 years to John Richard Bogdany, died on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2016, at Palmetto Health Richland. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Robert Lee Shirah Sr. and Lolease McGee. Jean enjoyed sports, making jewelry, working in her garden, traveling and boating. She was always happy, especially when surrounded by her family and friends. She will be remembered as a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Surviving in addition to her husband are one son, John Kevin Bogdany and his wife, Leigh, of Lexington; one brother, Charles Rufus Inge of Nederland, Texas; one sister, Norma Jean Inge Montgomery of Nederland; and three grandchildren, Brandon John Bogdany, Austin Lee Bogdany and Caitlyn Macy-Jean Bogdany, all of Lexington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert Lee Shirah Jr., John Earl Shirah, Jimmy Ashton Shirah and Phillip Michael Shirah. A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday at the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Parris officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 5 to 6 p.m. on Friday at Bullock Funeral Home.
