| MILI | 1861 Regimental Surgeon 1st SC Artillery stationed at Charleston, South Carolina At the beginning of the Civil War he was appointed Surgeon of 1st S. C. Artillery Stationed at Fort Sumter. After the was, loss of property and taxes compelled move to north. He settled in Fredoreia, New Jersey in 1867 and two years after sent for wife and ten children. Matthew Singleton Moore opened a medical office on Main Street in Fredonia, New York. He entered service Feb. 11 1862 at Fort Sumter, South Carolina, a major and surgeon in the 1st Regiment SC Artillery in Oct. 1862 listed as Regimental Surgeon and by May 1864 was listed as Chief Surgeon 1st, 4th and 7th Military District. Paroled on a roll date 28 April 1865. | |
