He was a private in Captain Lewellyn Jones’ and Dandridge’s company, 4th Troop of Colonel Theodrick Bland’s First Regiment of Continental Dragons. He was in the battles of Strewberry Hill, New Jersey, and Monmounth, and many other engagements. He was discharged in December following the Battle of Monmouth.
