CHARLESTON - Lucia Pinckney Rawlinson and Wesley Adair Covington were united in marriage at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2010, at St. Michael's Episcopal Church. The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. William Franklin Rawlinson Jr., and the granddaughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Marion Davis, the late Dr. William Franklin Rawlinson, and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Carson Phillips, all of Manning. She graduated from Laurence Manning Academy, the College of Charleston and the Medical University of South Carolina School of Dental Medicine. She is an oral surgery resident at the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Dantzler Covington Sr. of Norway, and the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Warren Livingston of North and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Moore Covington Jr. of St. Matthews. He graduated from Edisto High School, Cordova, Clemson University and the Charleston School of Law. He is employed as an attorney for the S.C. Association of Counties, Columbia. The Rev. David William Tackaberry Thurlow and the Rev. Alfred Thomas Kurt Zadig Jr. officiated at the ceremony. Music was provided by Edward Norman, organist; and Mrs. Wayne Clay Chester and Bryan Francis Hatfield Jr., soloists. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a modified A-line gown by White One Design of off-white alencon lace with a satin underlay, a strapless sweetheart neckline topped with an eyelash finish, and a rushed silk charmeuse sash at the empire waistline. She wore a cathedral veil with a blusher made from her mother's vintage veil and a garter of ivory organza detailed with vintage lace from her mother's lace cap. She carried a large bouquet of all solid white and ivory hydrangeas, freesias, orchids, roses and stock with small accents of Queen Anne's lace tied with a soft ivory ribbon attached with large pearls. Caroline Fishburne Rawlinson, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor, with Mrs. Benjamin Edward Grimsley as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Caroline Legare Atkinson, Marie Trenholm Buyck, Mary Frances Ross, Mrs. Sarah Proulx Donald and Samantha Hope Finley. Emily Grace Covington served as flower girl. The bridegroom's father served as best man. Groomsmen were John Dantzler Covington Jr., brother of the bridegroom, Thomas Marion Davis Jr., Scott Ferrell Cothran, Jason Dwight Flake, Toby Timrod Joseph Albergotti and Gary Curtis Lee Jr. Grayson Christopher Herring served as ring bearer. Also participating were Peter William Tackaberry Thurlow, Sara Albritton Grimsley, Hunter Ann Cothran, Riley Katherine Gagne, Elizabeth Gibson Solomons, Mrs. John Townsend Rivers IV, John Dantzler Covington Jr., Mrs. Russell Thomas Purvis, Dr. William McAlhaney Davis and DuValle Wayne Elliott. The reception was given by the bride's parents at The Rice Mill, Charleston. The rehearsal party was given by the bridegroom's parents at Magnolia's, Charleston.
