GEDDINGS PINEWOOD -- Shirley Edward Geddings, age 71, beloved husband of Myrna JaDon Campbell Geddings, died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at his home. Mr. Geddings was born in Sumter, a son of Ruby Hudson Geddings White and the late Troy Geddings. He retired from Santee Print Works after 35 years and was a member of the Calvary Church of the Nazarene. Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Deryll Edward Geddings of Paxville; a brother, Earl Geddings of Bryson City, N.C.; two sisters, Nell Geddings McGhee and Iris Geddings Smith, both of Sumter; a granddaughter, Megan E. Geddings of Sumter; two great-grandchildren, Logan Mitchum and Isabella Aviles; three stepchildren; nine step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Lennie Johnson of Pinewood. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie O. Geddings Snyder, and a stepson. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today at the Sumter Cemetery.
