Comments: I have been researching the Ioor family for close to a year after seeing the graves of three Ioor brothers in Coryell County Texas, Warren Miller Cemetery. They are: John L 1855-1894, William W 1857-1893 and Raven 1866-1883. Another brother, Thomas W Ioor is buried in Hall County Texas, Lakeview Cemetery. I believe their father is LTC Wallace B Ioor and their mother is Martha Bickerton Lewis Ioor. Wallace Ioor's parents and grandparents are as follows: Dr William B and Ann Bolyn Matthewes Ioor. John Ioor Jr and Elizabeth Bradwell. John Ioor Sr and Mary Wallace Ioor. Joseph Ioor, who helped lead colony from Dochester Mass. to form Dorchester SC in 1696. I believe Joseph Ioor is buried at old St George's Parish Cemetery, SC. But that is my thought, it isn't a fact. I would love to know where Wallace B Ioor is buried. I believe he died in Bedford Township, Cross County Arkansas in 1879 where he was living with his family. Please email me because I would love more info. Thank you.

He was a young captain in the War of the American Revolution. He, with Captain Biddle and 315 other brave soldiers, were blown up March 17, 1778, when the vessel “Randolph” exploded. This vessel was a “rich man’s (man’d) boat”. It belonged to wealthy patriots of South Carolina and was manned only by rich men. The explosion was caused by a spark from the enemy’s gunboat falling upon their powder magazine. [3] |
