Born in Alcolu, she was a daughter of the late Charles Hamilton Baker and the late Cora Lee Hamilton Baker. Mrs. Holladay was a retired cashier at the City Shoe Shop. She attended Friendship Baptist Church. She was the caretaker for her daughter, Gayle. Surviving are three sons, Charles D. Holladay and Jerry D. Holladay, both of Sumter, and Daniel A Holladay and wife, Bessie, of Pinewood; three daughters, Alice Gayle Holladay, Sandra Elaine Donaldson and husband, Edward, and Peggy Anne Thomason and husband, Ed, all of Sumter; a sister, Virginia Truett of Sumter; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Freddie Ray Holladay, and four brothers. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Nance officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.  [3]
