The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Levoe Rushing of Sumter and Mr. and Mrs. George Leighton “Rocky” Peebles of Cherokee, N.C., the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Wendell Rogers and Mrs. George Lafayette Peebles and the late Mr. Peebles, and the great-granddaughter of Mrs. Serena Lane Coward, all of Sumter. She graduated from Laurence Manning Academy. She is employed as a secretary by Bob’s Appliance Service. The bridegroom is the son of Derek George Hogue and Kimberly Ann Hogue, and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Carl L. Hogue and Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Legrand “Bo” Mathis, all of Sumter. He graduated from Lakewood High School. He is employed as a firefighter by the Clarendon County Fire Department and is a volunteer fireman with Bethel Station 13, Sumter. The Rev. Jerry Watson officiated at the ceremony. Music was provided by Lauren Abigail Geddings, soloist. Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a halter, chiffon sheath gown featuring a pleated bust, a beaded crochet lace empire waist and a sweep train. She carried a bouquet of caspia and cala lilies hand-tied with a sheer ribbon. Mrs. Heather Lane Cromer, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Sarah Logan Perry, Kimberly Alice Holliday and Lauren Abigail Geddings. Shirley Annette Peebles served as flower girl. Bobby Joseph Geddings Jr. served as best man. Groomsmen were Noah Woodrow Scurry, Edwin Legrand Mathis Jr. and Charles Micheal Lloyd. Rocky James Mason Peebles served as ring bearer. The bride’s parents held the reception at San Souci Farm, Sumter. The bridegroom’s family held the rehearsal party at Bethel Baptist Church Family Life Center.
