MATTIE W. PETERSEN
Mattie Ward Petersen, 90, widow of George Peterson, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.
Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Guinyard and Elizabeth Geddings Ward. Mrs. Petersen was a member of First Baptist Church and was retired from Southern Bell Telephone Co.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol Mount of Richmond, Va., and Elizabeth Ostroski of Phoenix, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Evergreen Memorial Park.
