Davis died Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, at the Dorn VA Medical Center, after a brief illness. He was a son of the late Missiour Robinson Davis and Elliott Davis. Mr. Davis loved to hunt and fish and was always telling everyone about his adventures. He was very proud to have served in the U.S. Army and could talk for hours about his overseas tour of duty. Mr. Davis was a special man and will be missed dearly by family and friends. He was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by two sisters, Annie Smith and Sherily Simmons. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Lonnie Davis; and two sisters, Pearlie Douberly and Josephine Dubose. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Floyd Cemetery in Tillman. Pallbearers will be Ted DuBose, Charlie DuBose, Edward Smith, Lee Smith, Marvin Smith and Tad Ruthland. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Bullock Funeral Home.
