Born in Sumter County on April 18, 1952, he was the fourth child of the late Josh Cabbagestalk and Rena Lewis Cabbagestalk. He leaves to cherish his memories: four sisters, Corine Cabbagestalk of Woodrow, Lucille McClaughlin (Leon) of Eastover, Louise McCall (Tony) of Shaw Air Force Base and Ruby Phillips (Vincent) of Rembert; three brothers, Thomas Lewis (Bertha) of Albany, Ga., Herbert Lee Cabbagestalk of Sumter, Richard Lee Cabbagestalk of West Palm Beach, Fla.; three uncles, Daniel Lewis of Bishopville, Johnnie McMillian Sr. of Sumter and Roosevelt McMillan; two aunts; a special friend, Lois McCall of Shaw Air Force Base; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Julious. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel, Williams Funeral Home Inc., 821 N. Main St., with the Rev. J. Elbert Williams, eulogist, and the Rev. Dr. Ernest Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Corine Cabbagestalk, 73 Orange St., Woodrow. The funeral cortege will leave the home of his sister at 1:15 p.m. Pallbearers will be the Woodrow Elite Club. Floral bearers will be friends of the family.
