| HIST | of Sumter, South Carolina DOUGLAS E. BROWDER Douglas Ernest Browder, 66, died Thursday, May 27, 2010, at his home. Mr. Browder was a member of Temple Baptist Church and was retired from B.L. Montague Steel Fabrication Co. He was preceded in death by his father, George Ernest Browder; mother, Rosa Lee McElveen Browder; loving stepfather, Buddie Smith; a sister, Betty Browder; and a brother, Bobby Joe Browder. He is survived by his loving wife, Gracie Mae Fuson Browder; two sons, Douglas Wayne Browder (Teresa Thames) and Randy Darin Browder (Tara Hatfield); his much adored granddaughters, Makenzie Alexandra, Lyncoln Brianna, Madison Layne, Katelyn Nicole, Abigail Elisabeth and Carmen Olivia; three sisters, Barbara Jones, Brenda Taylor (Jerry) and Ann Byrd (Bobby); a brother, Jack Linsey Browder Sr.; and a sister-in-law, Ann Browder. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Allan Glass and the Rev. Charles Ahtonen officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Douglas Wayne Browder, Randy Darin Browder, Jack Linsey Browder Jr., Curtis W. Plum, Michael Eugene Browder and Mark Bradley Browder. Honorary pallbearers will be W.J. Coker, J.W. Baker, James Compton, Ralph Arrants, Ted Barrett and Miles Thames. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Temple Baptist Church and other times at the home.
