CURTIS Marguerite McCoy Curtis, 78, died Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010, at Toumey Regional Medical Center. Born in Charlotte, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Eldridge P. and Mary Evelyn Robinson McCoy. She was reared by her stepmother, Mildred E. McCoy. Mrs. Curtis was a member of Alice Drive Baptist Church and the Sumter Master Gardeners. She was the retired office manager for Dr. Kenneth W. Carson's dental practice in Camden. Surviving are three sons, Charles H. "Bud" Curtis III, M.D. and wife, Terri, of Cape Coral, Fla., Warren S. Curtis and wife, Kristi, of Sumter and Gordon Mark Curtis of Walnut Creek, Calif.; one daughter, Carol G. Curtis of Charleston; and four grandchildren, Lauren Curtis Collins, Kristen Curtis, Connor Curtis and Chandler Curtis. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sumter Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son, 1145 Boardwalk. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210 or to Alice Drive Baptist Church, 1305 Loring Mill Road, Sumter, SC 29150.
