HATFIELD BISHOPVILLE -- Helen Medlin Hatfield, 83, widow of Thomas Henry Hatfield, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center, Hartsville. Born in Bishopville, she was a daughter of the late James "Jim" and Pauline Sutton Medlin. Mrs. Hatfield was a member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church and was retired from Campbell Soup Co. Survivors include a son, Jimmy Hatfield (Kathy Miles Hatfield) of Sumter; and a brother, Rance Medlin (Lila Mae) of Bishopville. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Wallace officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wayne Harris, James Stokes, George Wallace, Warren Farmer, Harold Rucker, Sammy Bell and Mark Parker. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Hancock-Elmore-Hill Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
