1. JAMES TIMOTHY JACKSON FAMILY
James Timothy Jackson was born on September 20, 1833 . His nickname was "Little Tim". Tim is believed to be the son of TIMOTHY (II) JACKSON and Sarah Ann Scurry . Sarah was living with little TIM when she was old. TIM married Mary Henrietta Kolb, daughter of JEHU Kolb and Sarah Geddings, prior to 1858, the birth year of their first son, John Merrit. In the 1860 census TIM is listed as a Carpenter. On February 19, 1861 their second child, Franklin Pierce, was born. Frank was followed by Benjamin James on March 8, 1863, Thomas Jehu on August 1, 1865 and Joseph in 1868. Mary died between 1867, the earliest possible birth year of Joseph and July 18,1870, the enumeration date of the 1870 census, on which she is not listed.
After MARY's death, TIM married MARY's sister Anna Cain Kolb. It is curious that Anna was living at the home of her father, JEHU Kolb, on the day of the 1970 census, because TIM and ANNA's First child' IDA N., was born on October 5, 1870. (George Brown's records show TIM marrying ANNA on November 30, 1880). It would be interesting to discover Tim and ANNA's marriage date and MARY's death date and MARYís burial site.
Another unusual family occurrence is that Tim and MARY's youngest son, while living with Tim in 1770, was shown as the adopted son of Richard Bruce BARKLEY and Elizabeth MATILDA Kolb BARKLEY in the 1880 Census, Mary, Elizabeth and Anna were sisters and daughters of JEHU Kolb. TIM's oldest son, John, was also staying with the BARKLEY family in the 1880 census as a boarder. Undoubtedly the two families had close ties, but with TIM's land holdings, it is surprising that two of his sons would not be living with him."
