Powell, died on Monday, Feb. 26, 2018, at Palmetto Health Tuomey. Born on Oct. 12, 1948, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Colin and Catherine Oxendine Benenhaley. She was a member of Springbank Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband of Sumter; one son, Dwayne Benenhaley of Sumter; three stepchildren, Susie Williams of Florida, Darine Powell (Jennifer) of Andrews and Shane Powell of Greeleyville; two grandchildren; and one brother, Harold Benenhaley (Annette) of Sumter. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday at Springbank Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Miller officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. on Thursday at Springbank Baptist Church and other times at the home, 110 Morgan Ave. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
