He retired from Campbell Soup Co. after 32 years of service and Glasscock Trucking Co. after 10 years of service. He attended Springbank Baptist Church. Survivors include four children, Darine Powell (Jennifer) of Andrews, Dwayne Benenhaley of Sumter, Susan Louise Williams of Sumter and Robert Shane Powell of Greeleyville; two grandchildren, Laura Lozano and Brittany Lazano; and six great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at Springbank Baptist Church cemetery with the Rev. Steve Miller officiating. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.  [1, 2]
