She was the daughter of the late Harvey and Orie Gladys McCall Lyles, both of Sumter. She worked many years at Manufacturing Apparel Co. in Sumter and Columbia. She was a loving, caring and admiring woman with a heart full of love for her family and friends. She is survived by her husband and companion of 47 years, William Townson Hatchell of Columbia, who loved and will truly miss her dearly; sons, Cecil Stevens of Conway, Michael Stevens of Sumter; daughters, Carol Nesbit, Diane Bochette and Julie Murray, all of Sumter, Sandra Couillard, Rita Hammond and Wendy Abbott, all of Columbia; a number of grand and great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, September 24, 2009, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Assoc., 1101 Northchase Parkway Suite 1, Marietta, GA 30067 or the American Diabetes Assoc., P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
