| HIST | Stephen Scott Holloway SUMTER — Stephen Scott Holloway, 45, beloved husband of Serina P. Holloway, died Sunday, December 6, 2009, in Palmetto Health Richland Medical Center, after fighting a courageous battle with sickness. Born December 19, 1963, in Macon, GA, he was the only son of Alton M. Holloway and Barbara White Holloway of Adel, GA. He was a 1982 graduate of Vidalia High School. He attended Brewton Parker and Georgia Southern and received his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in professional aeronautics from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. He later was awarded his doctorate degree from Argosy University. Stephen had worked for Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Mountain State University and Webster University. In addition, he had retired from the United States Air Force as a master sergeant with 21 years of service. He was a life member of the NRA, member of the VFW, Elks Lodge of Sumter, and the American Legion. Surviving, in addition to his wife and parents, are a son, William Madison Holloway of Sumter; two sisters, Sheryl Lee Messner and her husband, Charles, of Jasper, GA, and Amy Lynn H. Wells and her husband, Craig, of Hahira, GA; two nephews, Hayden Reid Wells and Derek Tyler Messner; two nieces, Addison Grace Wells and Alexandria Rojas; and special lifelong friends, Dr. Robert Dejarnette, Jr. and Robert Dejarnette III. A graveside service, with full military honors, will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2009, at 2:30 p.m. in the Lakeview Memorial Gardens, in Vidalia, GA, with the Rev. Don Moye officiating. The eulogy will be given by Robert Dejarnette III. The family will receive friends, on Tuesday, December 8, 2009, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Bullock Funeral Home. The family will again receive friends at Ronnie L. Stewart Funeral Home in Vidalia, GA, from 11:00 until noon Thursday.
