| HIST | of Dalzell, South Carolina Mark T. Gardner Mark T. Gardner, age 51, husband of Tammy Hemming Gardner, died on Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, at his residence. He was born in Sumter, a son of Samuel William III and Janice Redeker Gardner. He graduated from St. Jude Catholic High School, earned his bachelor of science degree from the University of South Carolina and worked as a quality engineer. His art was welding, iron working, and woodworking. He loved the outdoors and helping the elderly whenever he was able. He attended St. Jude Catholic Church. Survivors in addition to his wife are three sons, Joshua Tod Gardner, Jared Christopher Gardner and Jordan Matthew Gardner, all of Sumter; a daughter, Jessica Kristen Gardner of Sumter; two sisters, Teresa "Terri" Gardner-Turner and her husband, Michael, and Christina "Tina" Gardner Johnson, both of Charlotte, N.C.; nieces and nephews, Corbin Turner, Hayden Turner, Abigail Johnson and Anna Johnson; an uncle, Frederick J. Redeker and his Margaret of Alexandria, Va.; an aunt, Janet G. Redeker of Houston, Texas; a cousin, Sean F. Redeker of Austin, Texas; and special friends, Dr. J. Grady Locklear, Jim Allen and Sally Kirven. He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Paul Gardner; paternal grandparents, Samuel William Gardner Jr. and Phronsie Brabham Gardner; and maternal grandparents, Frederick Martin Redeker and Adeline Schneirs Redeker. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Thomas Burke, C.Ss.R. officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
