| HIST | of Sumter, South Carolina JERRY NEVILLE HARDEE Posted Friday, April 2, 2021 6:00 am Jerry Neville Hardee, 72, beloved husband of Cynthia Healan Hardee, died on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at Prisma Health Richland Heart Hospital in Columbia. Born on Oct. 18, 1948, in Dillon, he was a son of the late Heber and Katie Baker Hardee. Jerry founded Hardee Construction Co. He started early working as an electrician out of his truck. He loved what he did, and he was all about hard work. He had a heart of gold. He was well respected in the construction community. He enjoyed working with the Sumter community as well as the tri-county area. Jerry loved building those relationships with his clients. He was especially proud of the many churches he was a part of building and the relationships he formed through building those. Jerry loved the lake life. He absolutely loved cruising in his boat. He enjoyed spending the summers with his family and friends. He loved napping by the lake. Jerry was a member of the Sumter Masonic Lodge No. 364 and the Sumter Elks Lodge No. 855. He was an avid Gamecock fan and was a member of the Gamecock Club for more than 25 years. He enjoyed attending the USC games and tailgating with his friends. He lived life to the fullest and enjoyed every moment. Survivors in addition to his wife, Cynthia, include two sons, Dwayne Hardee (Janet) and Jason Hardee (Amanda); a daughter, Kristen Love Walton (Cole); six grandchildren, Justin Hardee, Clayton Hardee (Kayla), Jay Hardee, Daulton Hardee (Darcy), Mary Beth Hardee and William Hardee; a great-granddaughter, Naomi Jane Hardee; and a sister, Hermana H. Thompson of Summerville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Gilany Martin; and brothers, Junius Hardee, Jimmie Hardee, Highland Hardee and Maderia Hardee. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Bethesda Church of God with Pastor Al Sims and Pastor Pat Coffey officiating. Burial will be at Providence Baptist Church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Justin Hardee, Clayton Hardee, Daulton Hardee, William Hardee, Cole Walton and Hugh Gaymon. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Bethesda Church of God.
