Snyder Jr., 68, died on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at Sumter Health and Rehabilitation. Born on Oct. 10, 1952, in Sumter, he was a son of Verna Broadway Snyder and the late Benjamin Marshall Snyder Sr. He was a retired carpenter and a member of Grace Baptist Church. Survivors include his mother of Sumter; two sisters, Linda S. Veal (Jimmy) of Sumter and Cynthia S. Ballard of Columbia; two nieces, Heidi C. Coursey (Billy) and Heather Collins; great-nieces and nephews, Dalton Coursey, Holden Coursey, Bates McCutchen and Jody O'Connor; great-great-nephews, Owen and Talon O'Connor; and aunts, Helen Mills of Columbia and Ollie Mae Snyder of Manning. He was preceded in death by a niece, Ashley Ballard. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Steve Williams officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Friday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Sumter United Ministries, 36 S.
