| HIST | LOIS R. LYLES Lois Rogers Lyles, age 79, beloved wife of 59 years to Harvey Lyles Jr., died Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Lyles was born in Alcolu, a daughter of the late Jimmy and Estelle Braxton Rogers. She retired from Campbell Soup Co. She loved to cook for her family. She was a great mother, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to her husband are: two sons, Harvey Lyles III and his wife, Marla, of Florence, and James Henry Lyles and his wife, Pat, of Sumter; four daughters, Sarah Lyles Nichols of Sumter, Kathy Lyles and her husband, Hague, of Florence, Helen Annette Lyles Newman and her husband, Allen, of Sumter, and Lois Lyles Bochette and her husband, Kenneth, of Sumter; four brothers, Alton Rogers of Sumter, Bobby Rogers of Sardinia, Ervin Rogers of Georgetown and George Rogers of Calif.; two sisters, Dorothy Wisner of Peoria, Ill., and Katie Corey of Florence; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, at the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Robert N. Rivers officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., today at Bullock Funeral Home. Memorials may be sent to New Salem Baptist Church, 2500 Oakland Ave., Sumter, SC 29150.
