  According to the 1820 Census of Sumter County South Carolina, Charles was a farmer. Von Hache papers from John Tindal: Linam, Charles (died bef. 1843?). 3rd & youngest son of Maurice and Mary Jones Linam; left three sons (2died in service) & 2 daughters (notes on desc. of Maurice Lynam by Mrs. Henrietta Lynam, Sumter S. C. 1909). Inherits 12-6-1805 from his mother Mary Williams (Wills AA,62) * Witn: 1-1-1803 (B,155); 10-16-1806 Claremont with Linam (BB,289); 5-29-1807 (C,40). He owes 1-1-1821 To Benj. & Duke Goodman, mortg. 3-8-1822 Negroes to them: paid in full 6-1-1823 (FF,379). Sold 1-1-1823 to Jas. R. Berry 89 a. on Long Br., bd; N-Long Branch., Jas Compton, E-Thos Maples, S-James Singleton, W-Bear Br. (FF,571).Married Amelia Matilda Bracey - see above (Roll396).
