Cain, 84, of Camden, SC will be held at 4:00 PM, Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church in Camden, SC. Rev. Steve Patterson and Rev. David Weaver will officiate. The family will receive friends in the sanctuary of the church following the service. Charitable donations in his memory can be made to the Pastor's Discretionary Fund at Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church, 1206 Lyttleton Street, Camden, SC 29020. Foster Ravenel Cain, Jr., of Camden, SC, passed away Wednesday night, November 5, 2014 at A. Sam Karesh Nursing Center in Camden, SC. Born in Florence, SC, he was the only child of Cora Eaddy Cain and Foster Ravenel Cain. He spent his childhood in Pamplico, SC and Johnsonville, SC. Foster served in the US Air Force, stationed in Alaska, before becoming employed with DuPont Company in Camden. He was affectionately known as "Pappy" among his coworkers and made a number of wonderful friends during his 40 year employment with DuPont. Foster was an avid runner and long distance bicyclist for many years and was a past member of the Carolina Cyclist Club in Columbia, SC. He was a rose enthusiast and enjoyed sharing his homegrown, long stem roses with the community, as well as, volunteering his time to tend the roses at the church for some years. Foster was a long time member of Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church, where he volunteered in various capacities. Foster is survived by his wife, "Pat", of Camden, SC; his daughters, Pamela C. Smith of Camden, SC, Melanie S. Cain of Greenville, SC; a son, Foster Ravenel Cain III of Easley, SC; and granddaughter, Laura Ropp Smith of West Columbia, SC. Foster was predeceased by his parents, a half sister, Mabel Davis and a half brother, Herbert Cain, both of Johnsonville, SC. The family wishes to thank the A.
