  HIST	Richard Singleton and his wife, Martha James Singleton, moved from Sumter, SC to Clarendon Co., the Old Spanish Mississippi Territory. Their son, Dr. (as in Methodist Minister, ordained) Joseph James Singleton moved from Mississippi back into Georgia as an adult, marrying a Miss Mary Ann Terrell on Jan. 24, 1825 in Greene Co., GA. They later moved to Dahlgreen. (Gary Singleton ) By the way, in the first e-mail you sent me containing some of your SC forebears I spotted Joseph J. Singleton. You know he was the first superintendent of the Federal mint at Dahlonega, GA, in the 1830s, and he's buried in the town I grew up in and went to college in, Athens, GA.
