| HIST | of Bishopville, South Carolina CLARA ELIZABETH POWELL BRINK Posted Tuesday, November 16, 2021 6:00 am BISHOPVILLE - Clara Elizabeth Powell Brink, 88, widow of Frederick Eugene Brink Sr., died on Sunday, Nov. 14, 2021, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late J.C. and Kitty Viola Degarhart Powell. Mrs. Brink attended Bethany Baptist Church. She retired from Alderman Drug Co. after more than 30 years of service. She maintained a profound faith and trust in her Lord through many trials and shared her deep faith and unconditional love with her family and friends. Survivors include two children, Frederick E. "Chip" Brink Jr. (Cynthia) of Columbus, Mississippi, and Tracie B. Watkins (Stephen) of Lamar; four grandchildren, Joshua Avery (Brandy), Christopher Brink (Joyce), Caleb Brink (Haley) and Stephanie Watkins; five great-grandchildren; a brother, George Powell (Frances) of Columbia; three sisters, Dorothy Hickson of Bishopville, Celestine Mims and Hilda Krieger, both of Sumter; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, J.C. Powell Jr., Daniel T. Powell, Margaret Price, Lewis A. "Louie" Powell, John Powell and Beatrice Lamkin. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with the Rev. Dr. James Chandler officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
