Born in Manning, he was a son of the late Adolph Rollins Walker and Ruth Schroeder Walker. Mr. Walker was a member of Alice Drive Baptist Church and retired from Santee Print Works with 42 years of service. He was a U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force veteran. He was twice married, first to the late Mary L. Walker. He is survived by his wife, Mary E. McDonald Walker of Sumter; a daughter, Barbara Wilson (Dewight) of Olanta; a sister, Lois Craven (Ron) of Sumter; six stepchildren, Edward Cuffley of Surfside Beach, Lisa Cuffley (Sandy) of Myrtle Beach, Albert Kirby (Sarah) of Sumter, Carroll Kirby (Cathy) of Sumter, Brian Kirby (Stephanie) of Manning and Sonia Vasil (Wesley) of Fayetteville, North Carolina; numerous grandchildren and step-grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Charles Ellis Walker Jr. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Clay Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home.
