Anderson Sr., 78, widower of Shirley Jean Anderson, died on Friday, Oct. 22, 2021, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital. Born on March 18, 1943, in Timmonsville, he was a son of the late Walter Anderson and Marie Windham McLeod. Mr. Anderson was a member of Church of God of Prophecy. He owned and operated Anderson's Service Center, until his retirement. He was an avid racing fan. Survivors include two children, Ronnie E. Anderson Jr. (Jackie) and Peggy Caples (Terry), both of Sumter; six grandchildren, Sean Anderson (Allee Morrison), Erin Anderson (Troy Turner), McCall Campbell (Jonathan), Terry Wayne Caples Jr. (Stormie Finotti), Brandon Caples (Sarah) and Jessica Kelsey; seven great-grandchildren, Colton, Brystol, Gatlin, Easton, Lexi, Landon and Keegan; two brothers, Bobby Anderson and Billy Anderson (Shirley), both of Sumter; two sisters, Sandra Jean Lynch (Manley) and Kathy Griffin, both of Sumter; a special pet, Bella; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Christopher Anderson; and a brother, Joey Anderson Sr. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with Bishop Eddie E. Fleming. Burial will be at Anderson Cemetery near Timmonsville. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Anderson Jr., Terry Caples Sr., Terry Wayne Caples Jr., Sean Anderson, Troy Turner, Jonathan Campbell, Joey Anderson Jr. and Joey Anderson III. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. on Wednesday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
