CARLA FAYE WELDON MARSHALL Posted Saturday, February 26, 2022 6:00 am Carla Faye Weldon Marshall, 65, wife of Philip L. Marshall, died on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022, at Agape House of Lexington. Born on July 29, 1956, in Sumter, to the awaiting adoptive arms of the late Carl F. and Geraldine Crocker Weldon. She graduated from Wilson Hall School and Newberry College and attended graduate school at the University of South Carolina. She taught briefly at Sumter Area Technical College. Most of all, she was a full-time mother. She was a voracious reader, loved God, gospel music, breaking news and political debate. She was also preceded in death by her biological mother, Roberta Brown, and brother, David Brown. She will be missed by her husband of 42 years, Philip Marshall of Sumter; as well as their son, Weldon and his wife, Megan, of Columbia; and her siblings, Lisa Brown Green and Reggie Brown, both of North Carolina, and Chris Brown Hall of California. Her beloved pugs already mourn her also. Carla had been under hospice care for several years, making the best of things. Even through that, she strived to get the most out of life. The family would like to thank Agape Care and their staff for making life and death easier. In place of a formal service, a celebration of life and time of remembrance will be announced. It will be a time for friends to remember, laugh and mourn their dear friend. She supported ocean clean-up and, in lieu of flowers, would prefer donations be sent to 4ocean.com.
