| HIST | EDNA MAE WEST BAGLEY Posted Friday, October 6, 2023 6:00 am Edna Mae "Sandy" West Bagley, 92, widow of former Vietnam prisoner of war retired U.S. Air Force Col. Bobby R. Bagley, died on Wednesday Oct. 4, 2023, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital. Services will be announced by Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home & Crematory, 221 Broad St., Sumter (803) 775-9386. Sandy Bagley Obituary Edna Mae "Sandy" West Bagley, 92, and widow of (Colonel Retired) U. S.A.F. former Vietnam Prisoner of War Bobby R. Bagley, died Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital. Born in Canton, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Andrew Silas West and Iva Mae Worley West. In the past, Mrs. Bagley was a member of the Officers Wives Club at Shaw Air Force Base and campaigned for the Vietnam POW's. She was also a volunteer with the American Red Cross in Turkey and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving is one daughter, Vickey Ann Bagley of Columbia, SC; several cousins and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings. Memorial Services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday, October 12, 2023, in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Thursday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home. Burial will be held at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfast Rd., Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256 to the Sumter DAV, P. O. Box 464, Dalzell, SC 29040 or to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, National Processing Ctr., P. O. Box 758542, Topeka, KS 66675-8542.
