| HIST | VENETIA A. WHITE Posted Thursday, January 5, 2006 7:00 pm Venetia Auld White, 87, died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006, at a local nursing center. Born July 5, 1918, in Sumter, she was the daughter of the late William Auld and the late Jessie Fanning Auld. Mrs. White attended school in Sumter and graduated from Springfield High School. She was formerly employed as an insurance agent. She was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church. Surviving is one brother, Lawrence W. Auld and wife, Joan, of Sumter; one aunt, Estelle Fanning Novak of Columbia; many special nephews and nieces, among them L. Patrick Auld of Greensboro, N.C., and Patricia Leasure of Sumter. She was preceded in death on Jan. 1, 2006, by her brother, William James Auld of Columbia. The family would like to thank the members of First Presbyterian Church, especially Circle 3, for their loving concern and many kindnesses extended to Venetia over the years. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel of the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Zane Moore and the Rev. Josie Holler officiating. Burial will be in the Sumter Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Elmore Hill McCreight Funeral Home and other times at the home of her brother, 27 Brogdon St. Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 9 W. Calhoun St., Sumter, SC 29150 or to the Santee Wateree Mental Health Association, 215 N. Magnolia St., Sumter, SC 29150. Online condolences may be sent to www.sumterfunerals.com.
