Went to Mississippi. Robert Singleton brought a Bill of Complaint against Richard and Joseph Singleton, sons of Robert Singleton. Joseph may have gone to Jackson County, Georgia per Index to United States Census of Georgia for 1820

After the Battle of Lexington, April 18, 1775, Robert Singleton (born 1724), Col. Matthew Singleton (born 1730), Capt. John Singleton (Col. Matthew Singleton's son born 1754), Joseph Singleton (son of Robert Singleton born 1724), and John Singleton (another son of Robert Singleton born 1724) signed the SC District Eastward of Wateree "Declaration of Independence.This is probably the son of Richard Singleton, married to Martha James.
WILL OF JOSEPH SINGLETON
In the name of God Amen, I Joseph Singleton, of the State of South Carolina and Sumter District being in a low State of Health but of sound mind and memory and knowing that all men have to Die do make and ordain this my last will and Testament, hereby revoking and disannulling all other and former wills made by me that is to say-------------------
First I recommend my soul to Almighty God who gave it, and my body to be buried in a Decent & Christian like manner by my Executors and as to my worldly affects after the payment of my Just Debts. I dispose of in the following manner-------------------
Item I give and bequeath unto my wife Elizabeth Singleton to following Negroes viz: Anthony & his wife Leah and six children, Dick, Billy, Lucy, Peggy, Barny & Nora Nance & her three children Rachal George and Deci. old Cato, Letty, Silvie and Sampson. Making in all sixteen Negroes to her and her heirs and assigns forever & with all their future increase, and I further give to my wife E. Singleton one old negroe fellow named Dick to her during her natural life only and after her death the said old fellow Dick I do hereby give him his freedom and to be no longer a slave to any person whatsoever---and I also give and bequeath unto my wife E. Singleton all my Household and kitchen furniture except what may be hereafter mentioned and I also give her my plantation tools and all my stock of Cattle except what is hereafter given to my son James and stock of Hogs except what is hereafter give to James and also all my stock of plantation Horses be they more or less and also my riding chair, all which property above given except old Dick, I do give absolutely to her and her Heirs and assigns forever-----------------
Item I give and bequeath to my Daughter Ann Falconer Eight negroe Essex & his wife Dinah and her four children Nat, Mily, Henry and Abraham Mary and her child Sara to her and her Heirs of her Body and in case of Falue of issue to return to my surviving Heirs, and I further give to my Daughter Ann Falconer nine other negroes namely Tom, Patience Ben, Big Sam Esther Letty old Frank young Cato and Charles with all the future increase to her and her Heirs and assigns forever------------------------
Item I give and bequath to my son Robt. Singleton seven negroes namely York and his wife Hannah & their five children Mary Washington March York and Billy with their future increase to him and the Heirs of his body but in case of a falure of issue to return to my surviving Heirs, and I further give to my son Robt Singleton seven other negroes Namely Luck January, Elery Tomy, Goerge, Adam and Jacob-- with their future increase to him and Heirs and assign forever----------------------------
Item I give and bequeath to my son Sherwood James Singleton eight negroes namely Nancey & her children Tener Rose, Dave Peter Eve, Daniel & Mingo with their future increase to him and the Heirs of his body and in case of falure of issue to return to my surviving Heirs, and I further give to my son S James Singleton six other negroes namely, Cally, Cate, Robbin, Fanny, Isaac and May with their future increase to him and his Heirs and assigns forever-- and I also give my son James one bed and Furniture and one matr Eighteen Head of Cattle and half my stock of Hogs to him & his Heirs and assigns forever----------------
Item I give and Devise to my Daughter An Falconer all the land lying on bear Branch and the east side of brunsons swamp contain in the plott purchased from Isham Moore lying west of a line to be drawn from the pine Corner which is the north east corner of Richardsons boundary, crossing bear branch, to the south east corner pine of Pipkins: boundary, also all that tract which I purchased from A. Blanding & granted to __?__all adjoining be the same more of less with all the improvements & Heriditiments whatsoever to here and her Heirs forever------------------------
Item I give and devise to my son Robt Singleton all the remainder of the tract or parcel of land contain'd in the plott purchased from Isham Moore and lying east of the land given to Ann Falconer be it more or less with all the improvements and Heriditiments whatsoever to him and his Heirs and assigns forever----
Item I give and divise to my son S James Singleton the plantation whereon I now live containing about Eight Hundred acres of land more or less bounding East on Capt Singletons land north by Robt Brown & south by Williams land together with all the improvement Heriditiments and appurtenances whatsoever to him and his Heirs and assigns forever with the only exception that my wife Elizabeth Singleton is to live on it and have the use of the House & what land she pleases her life time and to be given up at her death.--------
Lastly I will Bequeath & Divise that all the rest of my property should there be any shall be equally divided among my children - by a valuation of sale as the Majority may seem proper. And I do hereby appoint my wife Elizabeth Singleton my Executrix and Robt Singleton and Willm Falconer my Executors to take into possession my Estate at my death and fulfill this my last will & Testament given under my hand and seal this eight day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight Hundred and Twelve and in the thirty fifth year of the independence of the United State of America-------------------
