Major Robert Lide 1734-l802, brought by his maternal uncle Crawford from "on Roanoke, Virginia" to the Pee Dee section of South Carolina at six years of age. Reared an Episcopalian but after his second marriage to Sarah Kolb joined the Cashaway Baptist Church. Buried at Lowther's Hill. Was Major under Gerneral Francis Marion. Commissioner of Caveats, Cheraw District, County Court Justice of Darlington, South Carolina On many commitees of public affairs. Signature on Indent Stubs of the Estate of Arthur Hart.Robert Lide married the 3rd time to Mary Westfield 1755-l809. Their daughter, Hannah Lide 1796-l875 married Captain Thomas Hart , 1796-1842/ Their daughter Mary Westfield Hart 1818-1888 married Col. Thomas Cassels Law .
