| HIST | of Sumter, South Carolina W. RICHARD TIMMONS PINEWOOD - W. Richard Timmons, 62, husband of Norma Hatfield Timmons, died Friday, March 12, 2010, at his home. Born in Sumter, he was a son of the late Alva Robert Sr. and Zula Barkley Timmons. Mr. Timmons attended Southside Baptist Church. He retired from Glenn D. Reynolds Farms and was formerly employed by McDonald's as a maintenance technician. Survivors include his wife of Pinewood; three brothers, Alva Timmons Jr. (Bobbie) of Boaz, Ala., John Timmons (Sheri) of Sumter and James M. Timmons of Sumter; two sisters, Rosalee DuBose (Frank) of Manning and Gail Deas (D.L.) of Sumter; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Shelton Timmons; and a sister, Inez Geddings. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Tommy Atkinson officiating. Burial will be in Poole Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dwight Mixon, Terry Coleman, Tom Bochette, Garry Franklin, Tim Carroll and Wade McLeod. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of his niece, Mandy Rich, 1110 Fallingwater Lane, and the home of his brother, John, 1415 Jefferson Road.
