Thomas, a native of Morton Emmora, Durham County, England moved to Ireland before 1659. He died in December, 1664 and was buried in Turphelim, Westmeath County, Ireland. He is believed to have been a follower of Cromwell who granted him lands in Ireland. It is said that he became a Quaker after going to Ireland. He married ANNE..................., who died in January, 1672.
He is the first of this line to be identified. Together with his wife and children he migrated to Ireland in 1659. They located at Moate in Westmeath Co.,about 50 miles west of Dublin. When he came to Ireland he was a "Roundhead". Sometimes after reaching his new home he was converted to the Quaker faith and a "meeting" was "settled" in his house in Moate.
