Coward, died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Horace McGee and the late Eva Shorter McGee. She was a member of the Meadowbrook Church of God. Survivors besides her husband include three daughters, Wendy Barfield and her husband, Jimmy, Sheila Towery and her husband, Mitch, and Robin Beasley and her husband, Tony, all of Sumter; four grandchildren, Dustin Towery, Lacey Towery, Tony Grayton Beasley Jr. and Cassidy Beasley; three sisters, Dorine Sievers and her husband, Henry, Helen Polito, and Betty Willette and her husband, Roger, all of Sumter; and two brothers, Herbert McGee and his wife, Betty Ann, and Cody McGee and his wife, Nell, all of Sumter. She was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis McGee. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home with the Rev. James Chaffins, the Rev. Tim Williams and the Rev. Tim Henderson officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Fritz McDonald, Jay Tedder, Tony Tedder, Allen McGee, Glenn Tedder and W.T. Brogdon. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Mitch Towery, 2097 Winterberry Road. Memorials may be made to the Meadowbrook Church of God, 920 Meadowbrook Road, Sumter, SC 29153. Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of arrangements.
