• Notes

  Duncan was one of the earliest citizens to come from Conchra, Rosshire, Scotland before 1782. He was born in 1754 and came to South Carolina before the American Revolutionary War. He served in Colonel G. G. Powell’s regiment from St. David’s Parish. He engaged in the mercantile business in Camden, South Carolina with John Chesnut and John Adamson. [1]
