Mr., Mrs. Christopher Helms
Whitney Lee Barkley and Christopher Ryan Helms were united in marriage at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at Jersey Lure, Pinewood.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Wayne Barkley of Sumter, and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Gilbert Barkley Sr. of Sumter, and Mr. and Mrs. Wedrell Wayne Lee Sr. of Pinewood. She attended Lakewood High School and graduated from Homeward Education Association.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Billy Edward Helms Jr. of Sumter, and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Frank I. Howard of Sumter, and Billy Edward Helms Sr. and the late Virginia Helms of Sumter. He graduated from Lakewood High School. He is employed by Sumter Packaging Corp.
Bishop Walter Pinckney McLeod Jr. officiated at the ceremony.
Music was provided by Deborah Horton, pianist and vocalist; and Fair Mims and Ryan Marsh, vocalists.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white strapless gown. She carried a hand tied bouquet of Fiji mums.
S. Dian Barkley Sims served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Lindsey Brooke Barkley and Madison Paige Barkley.
The bridegroom’s father served as best man. Billy Edward Helms III served as groomsman.
The reception was held at Jersey Lure, Pinewood.
Following a wedding trip to North Myrtle Beach, the couple will reside in Sumter. [1] |
