GAINEY Janet Pack Gainey, 54, wife of Bobby Gainey, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center. Born Jan. 7, 1954, in Sumter, she was a daughter of Frances Geddings Pack Boykin and the late William Marvin Pack. She attended Sumter Freewill Baptist Church of the Pentecostal Faith. Survivors besides her husband and mother, both of Sumter, include a daughter, Crystal Miles of Sumter; two stepdaughters, Barbara Gainey of Alcolu and Shelley Charles of Sumter; a son, Billy Wise Jr. and his wife, Meghan, of Sumter; a stepson, Ervin Gainey of Sumter; a sister, Irene Burns of Sumter; and six step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Hodge. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in Sumter Freewill Baptist Church of the Pentecostal Faith with the Revs. Carl Lavender and Kevin Cribb officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Berry Jr., Ronnie Berry Sr., Richard Burns Jr., Gerald Gainey, Don Gainey and Lloyd Evans. The family will receive friends at the church from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday prior to the service and at other times at the home, 6235 Shetland St., Sumter. Memorials may be made to Sumter Freewill Baptist Church of the Pentecostal Faith, 973 Boulevard Road, Sumter, SC 29150.
