| HIST | SARA O. GEDDINGS Posted Wednesday, January 3, 2018 2:00 am Sara Osteen Geddings, 92, widow of Horace Geddings, died on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018, at her home. Born on Aug. 26, 1925, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late John William and Bertha Johnson Osteen. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Survivors include five children, Linda Christianson of California, JoAnn Huneycut, Gail Geddings, Mike Geddings (Debbie) and Levy Geddings (Kim), all of Sumter; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, John William Osteen Jr. of Aiken; a sister, Lucy Clark of Sumter; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson, William Horace Geddings. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Fraser officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
